Scenteq — scenting spaces

Reception scenting

The first room every visitor judges.

Reception scenting for offices, clinics and managed buildings — specified for a space people pass through and staff never leave.

What is reception scenting?

Reception scenting is a low, continuously dosed ambient fragrance system for the entrance and front-desk area of a commercial building. It is specified differently from the rest of the building because visitors experience it for seconds while the front-of-house team sits in it all day, so output is set for constant occupancy and scheduled higher only through arrival peaks. A standalone unit covers a reception up to 500m²; HVAC or AHU integration covers up to 1,000m².

  • Standalone from £599 ex VAT outright, or £59 per month all-inclusive
  • IFRA-certified oils, dry vapour — no residue on desks, screens or glass
  • Commissioned low, reviewed after two weeks, adjustable in the app

The problem

What makes this space different

A reception has the highest door movement and the lowest tolerance for a strong fragrance — visitors arrive for seconds, the front-of-house team sits there all day.

Most receptions end up with a plug-in air freshener that spikes and fades, or nothing at all. Neither reads as a well-run building.

Coverage

Areas we specify

  • Entrance halls and revolving-door thresholds
  • Front desks and welcome points
  • Visitor waiting and interview rooms
  • Lift lobbies immediately beyond reception
  • Building management and concierge desks

Our approach

How we get it right

Dosed for the desk, not the door

Output is set for the person sitting there eight hours a day, then checked at the threshold where visitors arrive.

Scheduled around the working day

Higher output before opening and through arrival peaks, lower once the building settles. Set once in the app.

One character across the ground floor

Reception, lift lobby and waiting areas carry the same fragrance so the building reads as one place.

FAQs

Reception scenting: FAQs

How strong should a reception scent be?
Noticeable within the first few seconds of arrival and unnoticed after five minutes. We commission at a low output and review after two weeks.
Will it bother the reception team?
It should not. Output is set for continuous occupancy rather than for a visitor passing through, and it is adjustable in the app at any time.
Can one system cover reception and the lift lobby?
Usually yes, if they share air. Where they do not, a second standalone unit or an AHU-level specification keeps the character consistent.
